South Point Biennial Art & Craft Show Opened
The three-day biennial art and craft exhibition of South Point School and South Point High School was inaugurated by Shri Sanatan Dinda, eminent painter and sculptor, at the South Point School premises on Thursday (15/12/11). More than 5,000 exhibits, including paintings, collages, charts and models, by South Pointers will be on display till 17 December 2011, from 2 pm to 7-30 pm daily. Shri Dinda appreciated the creative initiative of the students and was all praise for the role of South Point in imbuing its students with artistic creativity and giving them an opportunity to showcase their ingenuity and talent.

Shri Dinda picked up brush and paint to create an oil painting in the presence of awe-struck students and pleasantly surprised faculty members of South Point. It was Shri Dinda’s unique way of communicating with the budding artists and sculptors.

Notice for Admission - Transition to Class III 2012–2013
There are vacancies in Classes Transition, I, II and III for the Academic Session 2012-13. However, there are no vacancies in Classes IV & V.
  1. Prospectus and registration form will be available from the School against a payment of Rs 200/-.

  2. The above forms will be available from the school from January 4, 2012 to January 6, 2012 between 9.00 am and 11.00 am and also between 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm.

  3. Duly filled in registration forms are to be dropped (in a sealed envelope) in the box provided for the purpose, between January 5, 2012 and January 11, 2012.

  4. Self attested photocopies of the following must be enclosed along with the form:

    1. Birth Certificate of the candidate issued by the Municipal Corporation
    2. Residence Proof (Passport, Electricity Bill, Voter I Card or Driving Licence of either parent)
    3. Sibling’s ID Card or last year’s progress report (if a student of SPS /SPHS)
    4. Parent’s Madhyamik Certificate, in case of alumni of South Point High School
    5. Marksheet of the Half-yearly /Second Term Examination, 2011-2012.

  5. Parents must certify that all the information provided by them is correct and they understand that if the information is found to be incorrect or false, their application is liable to be rejected without intimation.

  6. List of selected candidates :

  7. Every year, we have more applicants than the number of seats available. Therefore, if a child is unable to secure admission, it is in no way a reflection of his/her calibre.

  8. Admission will be granted only when the child has passed the final examination of the previous class.

  9. Parents must also understand that the application/registration does not guarantee admission to their ward.

  10. Kindly note that the registration form is not transferable.

Special Classes : Class V (WBBSE)
This is to inform you that over the past few Academic Sessions, special classes are being held at South Point High School to help those pupils who need special care. South Point High School is once again offering special classes to pupils of Class VI, whose guardians think they may need help in the academic session 2012. These classes are usually taken once a week by teachers of the School. If you are interested in admitting your ward, please fill in the form given below and drop it in the drop box at South Point School by December 9, 2011.

The charges are Rs.330/− per subject per month, payable bi−monthly in advance. Lists of pupils being offered admission will be put up on the Notice Board at South Point High School on January 6, 2012. Pupils will be taken on a first-come first−served basis. The subjects offered are English, Bengali, Hindi and Mathematics. These subjects may be offered only if there is an adequate number of students opting for a particular subject. The school reserves the right of admission.
