Notice : Guardians of Class IV
Dear Guardians,

Your child is about to appear for ASSET on December 7, 2015. ASSET stands for 'Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing' a skill-based diagnostic test that is conducted in our school every year by Educational Initiatives.

It is important for every child and parent to understand the purpose of the test, so that they can derive the maximum benefits from this exercise. ASSET is not just a test – it is a valuable tool in the hands of parents and teachers to help each child improve. Unlike regular tests which try to find out how much a child knows from a fixed syllabus, ASSET measures how well a student has understood the concepts and whether he/she can apply the same in practical, everyday situations. Thus ASSET helps each student know whether he/she has actually understood a concept early on so that immediate action can be taken. Often students have conceptual gaps which increase as they progress and when they reach the higher classes, they develop a "phobia" for the subject. We have to prevent that from happening.

I would request you to ensure that your child takes this test seriously, so that the results and reports are relevant and the child can be helped later. After the test, each student is given his/her report (after about a month) that contains feedback on the child's strengths and weaknesses. These reports should be discussed by each parent and appropriate plans made for improvement, for the child. At the school level, we do the same after looking at the reports at section and class levels.

We look forward to a successful ASSET programme that would result in improvement of concepts in every child of our school.
