On Saturday, March 16, 2019, pupils of Class XI had arranged a lunch at School for the outsourced housekeeping, maintenance and security staff, as a part of Social Service.

An In-house workshop pertaining to ‘Assessment and Evaluation’ was held for teachers of Social Science for the Middle School (VI to VIII) on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Thursday, March 14, 2019, teachers of History, Political Science, Geography and Economics of the Secondary & Senior Secondary classes attended the In-house workshop on ‘Assessment and Evaluation’ from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In-house workshops on ‘Assessment and Evaluation’ for teachers of Science, were held for the Middle School (Classes VI, VII & VIII) and Senior & Senior Secondary Classes in the Physics Laboratory from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 05, 2019 and Thursday, March 07, 2019, respectively.
All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) 2019 commenced on Tuesday, March 05, 2019. Pupils of the School have their Examination Centre at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Fort William, Kolkata.
On March 2, 2019 the Cubs & Bulbuls had a lot of fun as their teachers helped them organise a session of non-fire cooking. They engaged themselves in preparing delicious sandwiches, phuchkas, chats, etc. The fun-fiesta was enjoyed by one and all.
Grandparents’ Day was celebrated in school on March 1, 2019. All children of Nursery I along with their grandparents were invited to attend the grand event. 152 pupils of Nursery I put up a fantastic programme, the theme of which was ‘It’s Magic’. The little singers of the Nursery Choir sang with full gusto, while the dancers and actors enthralled the audience with their performance. There were four shows in all, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. After each show, the grandparents who formed the audience of that particular show, went to the backyard with their grandchildren where a mini fair was arranged. There were stalls selling candy floss, ice creams, popcorns and other mouth-watering goodies. Tea for grandparents was complimentary. A ball pool, a tumble tosser and a toy train were set up for the little ones to have fun. As the happy little Pointers left school with their grandparents, each child was given a balloon as a reminder of all the fun they had in school that day.
Apeejay Anand Children’s Library organised an Art Workshop on February 26, 2019 at Apeejay House, Park Street. Twelve children of Class III participated in this workshop. They were accompanied by Ms Sujata Khastgir, Art Teacher, South Point School. The children painted on umbrellas. The theme for the event was – ‘Darna Nahi Badhna Hai’. Arnab Saha of Class III C (Aft.) secured the Second position and Gaurabaditya Ghosh of Class III D (Aft.) secured the Fourth position. Both the children received special gift hampers. The other ten participants received goody-bags. A huge number of budding artists from numerous schools of Kolkata, as well as, underprivileged children from various organisations made the event colourful and enjoyable.

A Wellness Programme in compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007 related to Health and Safety was held for all Members of Staff in the School Auditorium on Friday, February 22, 2019 in two sessions (11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 pm.) and on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dr. Binayak Deb, Senior Cardiologist, spoke about how to keep one’s heart healthy while Dr. Kaushik Sil, Neurologist and Spine Specialist, gave tips to have painfree back and joints. Yoga Therapist Mr. Parijt Roy with his support staff Mr. Prolay Maharaj and Mr. Avary gave a live demonstration of yoga for healthy living. Survival tips for mental well being were explained by Dr. Sujata Das. Finally how to plan a daily
healthy diet chart was presented by an experienced dietician Mrs. Barnali Bose.
The Priyamvada Birla Scholarship will be awarded every year, starting from 2013, to meritorious students belonging to the low income group, pursuing their studies in under-graduate courses in Colleges and Institutes in West Bengal on Merit cum Means Basis.
