AISSCE-2019 Practical / Project / Viva-voce began on Monday, January 28, 2019.

Achievements 27/02/2019

Shresth Mahapatra of Class V C (Morning) had participated in the 3rd Unnayan All Bengal Open Chess Tournament held on December 22 & 23, 2018. He scored 5.5 out of 8 points and secured the First position. Shresth received a certificate and a trophy.

Abhiraj Gangopadhyay of Class II E (Morning) had participated in a Recitation Competition which was part of the 9th Jagrata Bali Vivek Yuva Utsav 2019 on January 6, 2019. He secured the First position. Abhiraj received a certificate and a medal.

Dishan Datta of Class III E (Morning) participated in the All Bengal Open Tenshinkan Karate Championship 2019 held at Rabindra Bhawan, Kolkata on January 20, 2019. He has been awarded the First place in Kata and the second place in Kumite. He received a certificate for each event and a gold and silver, medal respectively.

Archisman Banerjee of Class V F (Afternoon) participated in the South 24 Parganas District Chess Championship, 2019, organised by Mind Game Chess Academy in association with South 24 Parganas District Chess Association, held on January 26 & 27, 2019. He secured 5 points out of 6 rounds and obtained the 3rd position. He received a certificate and a trophy.

Somdutta Mondal of Class V H (Afternoon) and Sarthak Chaudhuri of Class V E (Afternoon) participated in the Mio Amore Mathemazic 2018-19 held on January 26 & 27, 2019 at Taki Boys’ School campus, Kolkata. Both of them were awarded certificates for being amongst the top 30 participants. At the end of the contest, both Somdutta and Sarthak ranked amongst the top ten. They will receive scholarships at a special function, later in the year.

Chirantan Ojha of Class III D (Morning) had participated in the SIP Arithmetic Genius All India Inter-School Contest, 2018 on December 9, 2018. He became the First Runner Up and has been selected to participate in the National Level Final Round. Chirantan received a certificate of appreciation and a trophy.

Shresth Mahapatra of Class V C (Morning) participated in the 3rd Unnayan All Bengal Open Chess Tournament held on December 22 & 23, 2018 at Santosh Mitra Square, Shishu Uddyan, Kolkata. He scored 5.5 points out of 8 points and stood 1st in the Under 12 Boys Category. Shresth received a certificate and trophy.

Picnic 17/01/2019

On January 17, 2019 about 373 children of Class IV went for a picnic to IBIZA.

Inter-House Competition 16/01/2019

The fourth inter-house competition (Debate) was held on January 16, 2019. Eighteen children, three from each of the six Houses, participated in this. Nine children spoke for the motion, ‘In today’s world, girls and boys get equal opportunities’ and nine spoke against. The moderator for this event was Ms Hasnu Mukherjee. The contest was judged by Ms Indrani Khanna, Ms Ajanta Sengupta and Ms S. Rajalakshmi.

Participation 26/01/2019

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, a team of 59 pupils from Classes IX & XI took part in the Ceremonial March Past on the occasion of the Republic Day Celebrations held at Red Road, Kolkata.

Workshop 21/01/2019

20 pupils of Class IX attended an introductory workshop exploring techniques we can use to create theatre, on Monday, January 21, 2019 in the School Auditorium. Mary-Frances Doherty, an internationally acclaimed actor and theatre artist, conducted the two hour long workshop.

Mr. Bobby Chakraborty, a well-known Anti-addiction activist conducted workshops on Anti-addiction for pupils of Class XI on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and Friday, January 25, 2019 over three sessions. He spoke extensively about the impact of smoking, drinking and drug abuse on the body and the mind. He cited examples from life, to drive home the devastating consequences of addiction.
