Participation 17/01/2019

Smt. Tanusmita Banerjee and Smt. Isita Saren, Physical Education Teachers of the School attended a workshop for the Award Leaders of the IAYP at Emmanuel Ministries, Kolkata on Thursday, January 17, 2019 and Friday, January 18, 2019. The programme was conducted by Sri Bivijit Mukhoty, Programme Manager and Sri Kapil Bhalla, National Director, Award Programme Foundation. They explained all the activities viz. social service, physical activity, adventure journey and skills related to the programme.

School Fest 17/01/2019

SPICMACAY Club of South Point High School organized a Kathak Dance Recital on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the School Auditorium to mark the 14th year of its association with the organization. The four member Kathak Dance Recital team headed by Dr. Malabika Mitra, presented a spectacular show. Almost 400 pupils and members of staff watched the programme.

Examination 15/01/2019

Answer-scripts of the Practice Test for Classes X & XII were shown to the pupils on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Eligibility-cum-Aptitude / Admission Test for admission to Class XI was held for the pupils of Class X on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Achievements 13/01/2019

Ishani Kundu of Class III C (Morning) participated in the All West Bengal Yogasana Championship on December 22, 2018 held at Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Kolkata. Ishani secured the Second position in the ‘A’–Girls group. She received a memento and a certificate.

Intra-Class Cricket Finals 12/01/2019

The Intra-Class Cricket Finals were held on January 12, 2019 at Vivekananda Park. In the Class IV Finals, the Blue Team won by 21 runs. Rit Debanshi of Class IV G (Afternoon) scored 28 runs off 20 balls and was declared the Man of the Match. In the Class V Finals, the Yellow Team won the match by 7 wickets. Prithwish Santra of Class V E (Morning) scored 40 runs off 35 balls and was declared the Man of the Match. Both Rit and Prithwish received individual trophies. The winning teams also received the rolling trophies.

Death Anniversary of Founder Rector 08/01/2019

The death anniversary of our Founder Rector, the Late Satikanta Guha, was observed on January 8, 2019. A photograph of the legendary educationist was placed at the school reception and decorated with flowers. Members of staff and student representatives offered floral tributes as a mark of respect.

Annual Staff Picnic 12/01/2019

The Annual Staff Picnic of the School was held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Shiv Shakti Garden, Vill: Ramdevpur, P.O. Khagramuri, P.S. Bishnupur, Dist. 24-Parganas (South).

Participation 12/01/2019

Pupils from Classes VII, VIII & IX participated in a Prabhat Pheri, organized by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Ward No.68 on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s Birthday on January 12, 2019.

Social Service 08/01/2019

Social Service Projects were undertaken by the pupils of Classes IX & XI on Tuesday, January 08, 2019 on the death anniversary of the Founder Rector, Late Satikanta Guha. Three groups of pupils and teachers visited the following organisations:-

Navanir – a home for the aged, where the pupils served lunch to 100 inmates. They also had the privilege of interacting with them and entertaining them by singing songs.

Anandaghar – a home in Sonarpur for the orphans who suffer from AIDS. The pupils handed over packs of health drinks, body lotions, soap bars, hair oil, etc. for the use of the inmates there.

Prateek Sevabratee – a NGO which deals with the overall development of the slum children in the Dhakuria area. Our pupils handed over blackboards, chalk boxes, dusters, exercise copies, drawing copies, pens pencils erasers, sharpeners and packets of biscuit to the students for their use.

The Priyamvada Birla Scholarship will be awarded every year, starting from 2013, to meritorious students belonging to the low income group, pursuing their studies in under-graduate courses in Colleges and Institutes in West Bengal on Merit cum Means Basis.
