Inter-house Competition 30/09/2018

An Inter-house Poster Making Competition for Classes VI to VIII was held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the school premises.

Workshop 30/09/2018

A workshop on Indoor Rowing was held on Wednesday, September 26 and 27, 2018 at the terrace of the Annexe Building with five machines (Argometer). About 1000 pupils participated in the workshop and tested their physical fitness, endurance and ability.

Smt. Sarita Ghosh and Sri Rajarshi Barman, participated in a workshop on Accountancy Teaching, on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Mahadevi Birla World Academy. It was organized by M/s. Sultan Chand and Sons (P) Ltd. and the speakers in the workshop were Dr. G.S. Grewal and Mr. R.K. Khosla. They discussed the changes in the CBSE Accountancy Syllabus of Classes XI & XII (2018-2019) and also how to approach those changes.

Competition 23/09/2018

South Point High School participated in the State School Swimming Championship held at 24-Parganas (North) from September 28 to September 20, 2018 and won the following medals:-

Eshan Roy – VIII G (M) – Silver & Bronze Medals
Pratik Roy – VIII H (A) – 02 Bronze Medals
Soumik Datta Majumdar – IXF (M) – 4th place

Achievement 23/09/2018

Mitrabha Guha of Class XII D won the Bronze Medal in the 29 th National U/17 Open Chess Championship-2018 held at Sonipat from September 02 to 12, 2018. He has also qualified for the Asian Youth Chess Championship and World Youth Chess Championship-2019.

Competition 16/09/2018

Soumik Dutt Majumder – IX F (M), Eshan Roy – VIII G (M) and Pratik Roy – VIII H (A) have been selected for the State School Swimming Championship to be held at North 24-Parganas Swimming Pool from September 18 to September 20, 2018.

Sagnik Ghosh – XI E (U/17) and Aman Singh – XII D, Mayukh Sarkar – XI D, Aniket Agarwal – XII E and Abisranta Ghosh – XI G (U/19) have been selected to represent the District School Cricket Team for the State School Cricket Championship-2018.

CBSE Inter-school Competition 16/09/2018

Priyakshi Roy, Anuja Maity of IX G (M), Dron Bhattacharya – VII F (A), Swastik Dey – VII G (A) & Parijat Dwary – VI C (M) participated in the CBSE Cluster-II Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament held at Vikash Residential School, Bhubaneswar from September 12, 2018 to September 16, 2018. They were awarded the following medals:-

U/14 Boys (Team Event) – Silver
U/14 Boys (Individual Event) – Bronze
U/19 Girls (Team Event) – Bronze
U/19 Girls (Individual Event) – Silver

Out of the above five participants, four pupils have been selected for the CBSE National Table Tennis Tournament to be held at Noida from November 20 to November 24, 2018.

Inter-school Fest 16/09/2018

Pupils of Classes XI & XII participated in the “Interface-2018”, an Inter-school Fest, organized by The BSS School on Friday, September 14, 2018 at their school premises. South Point High School participated in Dumb Charades, Treasure Hunt and Non-Gas Cooking. South Point High School secured second position in Dumb Charades.

OHSAS 16/09/2018

A meeting of Implementation Team in compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007 was held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Conference Room.

National Kickboxing Championship 2018 09/09/2018

Anushka Sen of Classes IV C (Morning) participated in National Kickboxing Championship 2018 (10th Sub Junior & 11th Junior National Kickboxing Championship) held at Talkotora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from August 27 to 30, 2018. This was organised by Kickboxing Federation of India, affiliated to World Kickboxing Federation. Anushka, who represented West Bengal, won the Bronze medal in the Sub Junior – 7 to 10 years category (Semi Contact – Female). She also received a certificate.

Certificates of appreciation from Mindspark 02/09/2018

Ms Gargi Banerjee, Head of the Department, Mathematics and Ms Seema Goswami, Teacher Consultant, Arithmetic, received certificates of appreciation from ‘Mindspark’ for having effortlessly coordinated the Mindspark sessions held at school during the academic year 2017-2018. All teachers teaching Arithmetic in Classes II–IV received certificates of achievement for outstanding involvement and ingenious usage of Mindspark Teacher interface for the year 2017-2018.
