Saraswatu Puja 10/02/2019

Saraswati Puja was celebrated in school on February 10, 2019. The day began with the ‘puja’ followed by the ‘aarti’. Thereafter, a beautiful cultural programme was put up by both the schools. The choir of South Point School began the programme with a Rabindrasangeet befitting the occasion. This was followed by a dance by the little dancers of the junior school. The students of South Point High School put up a solo song and a group dance. A poem was recited and an interesting prose piece was narrated by two students. After the cultural programme, ‘pushpanjali’ was offered to the Goddess and ’prasad’ was distributed to one and all.

Social Service 06/02/2019

On February 06, 2019 the students of Nursery I to Transition brought potatoes and onions to give towards the social service project, ‘Reaching Out’. The children had been asked to bring a minimum of one potato and one onion each. The collection was sent to two NGOs, New Age and Calcutta Social Project.

Investiture Ceremony for Bulbuls & Cubs 02/02/2019

An Investiture Ceremony for the Bulbuls and Cubs of the school was held in school on February 2, 2019. Twenty one Bulbuls received badges and certificates. Nine of them were conferred with the Pravesh Badge, five with the Komal Pankh Badge, six with the Rajat Pankh Badge and one with the Suvarna Pankh. Seventy two cubs attended the ceremony. They also received badges and certificates. Forty three of them got the Pravesh Badge and twenty nine of them got the Pratham Charan badge.

Picnic 31/01/2019

On January 31, 2019 about 372 children of Class II went for a picnic to IBIZA while on February 1, 2019 about 421 children of Class III went for a picnic to the same place. They were accompanied by teachers, service staff and some selected guardians from Classes II & III.

Achievements 31/01/2019

On January 31, 2019 a few Pointers did their Alma Mater proud by winning medals and certificates in competitions held in the Inter School Literary Fest at Mahadevi Birla World Academy. Jahnabi Sengupta of Class V F (Afternoon) won the First prize in Bunkar (Hindi Creative Writing). Hridan Manna of Class IV D (Afternoon), Debojit Pal of Class V C (Afternoon) and Shauryaditya Mukherjee of Class V A (Afternoon) stood Second in the event Raycism (Quiz).

Indrava Banik of Class V A (Afternoon) had participated in the 6th Kolkata District Chess Championship 2019 organised by Kolkata District Chess Association, held at College of Engineering & Ceramic Technology, Kolkata on January 26 & 27, 2019. He was placed Third with 6.5 points out of 8 points in the Under 11 Category. He received a trophy and a medal.

Book Fair 02/02/2019

A Book Fair, organized by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd. was held in the School premises on Saturday, February 02, 2019. The total amount of sale was for Rs.67,698/-.

A Parent-Teacher Meeting for Classes VI to XI was held on Saturday, February 02, 2019.

Olympiad 31/01/2019

145 pupils of Classes VI to XII appeared for the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) Cyber Olympiad on Thursday, January 31, 2019. 08 pupils of Classes XI & XII (Commerce) also appeared for the SOF International Company Secretaries Olympiad on the same day in the School premises.

Evacuation Drill 31/01/2019

Mock Evacuation Drill for all members of staff and pupils was carried out on Thursday, January 31, 2019 for the Afternoon Session.

Competition 29/01/2019

Atreem Das of Class VII C (M) participated in the State Sub-Junior Boys Archery in the Indian Round held at Midnapur from January 26, 2019 to January 29, 2019 and secured third position in his category.
