Students of Classes III, IV & V participated in Jubilare, the inter-school festival held at Shri Shikshayatan School on November 30, 2019. Tuhin Mondal of Class V E (Afternoon), Suvayan Dey of Class V G (Afternoon), Pujak Chakraborty of Class IV G (Afternoon) and Mayanka Paul of Class III G (Afternoon) participated in the event, Mindgame – Chess and secured the 1st position. Pointers stood 3rd in Inkwizitive – Quiz on fantasy. The contestants for this event were Meghalina Sanyal Chatterjee of Class V D (Afternoon) and Akshay Agarwal of Class V G (Morning). The children received trophies for the school and certificates for themselves. Each participant was given a goodie-bag.
Investiture Ceremony
An Investiture Ceremony for the Bulbuls and Cubs of the school was held in school on November 30, 2019. Twenty five Bulbuls received badges and certificates. Seven of them were conferred with the Pravesh Badge, eight with the Komal Pankh Badge, five with the Rajat Pankh Badge and five with the Suvarna Pankh. Forty six Cubs received badges and certificates. Twenty seven of them got the Pravesh Badge and nineteen got the Pratham Charan.
Prayer Meeting
On November 30, 2019 a prayer meeting was held in the school auditorium at 11.00 a.m., in memory of Smt Dolly Hazra, a member of the Service Staff who served the institution for more than thirty five years; she passed away on November 13, 2019. Members of staff attended the meeting.
Second Day of Inter-School Fest, Ullas
The second day of Ullas, our inter-school festival was on November 25, 2019 and was held at G. D. Birla Sabhagar. Smt Gargee Roy Chowdhury, the renowned actor, was the Chief Guest. The day started off with Kwizwiz (quiz). Mr Ranjan Datta was the Quiz Master. Other events of the day were Aradhana (Hindi/Bengali devotional songs), Sound of Music (Scenes from English Musicals) and Jhoomar (Dances to Hindi/Bengali Folk Songs). Mr Shamik Pal, Mr Snigdhadeb Sengupta, Ms Sharmistha Shome, Mr Peddro Sudipto Kundu, Ms Rita Kundu and Mr Goutam Upadhyay, all eminent personalities, were the judges. South Point School bagged the maximum number of points and emerged the Champions, but being the host school, passed on the Championship Trophy to the First Runner-up ― Mahadevi Birla World Academy. Birla High School (Junior Section), being the next in line, lifted the Runner-up Trophy. Individual trophies were also given to the children who secured the first three positions in each event held on that day.

Participation
Pupils of Class XI J were taken to the Science City on Thursday, November 21, 2019 to attend a seminar and to visit the Vigyan Samagam exhibition. The seminar and the exhibition have been organized to make young motivated students aware about the role of India in several international mega science projects like Large Hadron Collider of CERN, International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), Square Kilometre Array telescope, India based Neutrino Observatory (INO), Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR), Laser Interferrometer Gravitational wave Observatory (LIGO), and to inspire them to choose research as a future career.
Compression Only Life Support (COLS) workshop to learn the techniques of CPR was held for the pupils of some sections of Class XI on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the school auditorium.
The representative of KREA University, Andhra Pradesh, spoke about the various courses including the inter-disciplinary ones they offer and the admission process. About 100 pupils of Classes XI and XII attended the programme.
Pupils of Classes XI & XII participated in Jaco Logiq, a Tech Fest organised by St. James School on Friday, November 22, 2019 at their School Premises. The students participated in various events. They secured the 1st position in Pixel.
Principal Address
The Principal addressed the pupils of Class XII on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, November 18, 19 and 21, 2019 to orient and inspire them to do their best in the forthcoming Board Examinations. On Friday, November 22, 2019, the Principal also addressed a section of Class X pupils to give them tips about their forthcoming examinations. Teacher Consultants and other senior teachers, guided the students vis a vis how they should prepare for the ensuing Practice Test and forthcoming Board Examinations.

First Day of Inter-School Fest, ULLAS
November 23, 2019 was a fun filled day at South Point School as it was the first day of the two-day celebration of Ullas, the annual inter-school festival. About seven hundred children from sixteen premier schools of Kolkata in the age group of 7–10 years joined South Point School on this joyous occasion. Children of Sandipan, the free evening school run by South Point Foundation also took part in two events. Mr K. Damani, Trustee, South Point Education Society lit the ceremonial lamp and declared the fest open. Some events like Patch-up (collage-making), Colour Point (digital painting), Spin-a-Yarn (English creative writing), Quiz-i-Tale (quiz on fables & fairy tales), Harsh Taal (a dance event) and Geetimala (antakshari) along with the prelims of Kwizwiz (quiz) were held in the school premises. Individual prizes for the first day’s events were given out to the prize winners that day itself.
