Athletic Meet
The Biennial Athletic Meet of the School was held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Gitanjali Stadium. Smt. R. Sanyal Bhattacharjee, Principal of the School delivered the welcome address. The day took off with the opening song and the school song, presented by the pupils of the School. It was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial torch and the hoisting of the school flag by Shri K. Damani, Trustee, South Point Education Society. Due to some official urgent engagement, the Chief Guest Shri Aroop Biswas, Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Power, Government of West Bengal, could not attend. The opening ceremony also comprised the March Past and oath taking ceremony followed by a Drill display by pupils of Classes VI – VIII of the Morning Session. A Yoga presentation based on an aerobics, by the pupils of Classes VI – VIII of the Afternoon Session, was one of the highlights of this segment. Further a Yoga Dance was presented by a group of 44 boys and girls. Athletes representing six houses participated in 29 track and field events. Some other events like Throwing the Cricket Ball, 50 Mtr. Spoon and Marble Race, 75 Mtr. Skipping Race, Long Jump, Slow Cycling and Passing the Ball had been held earlier. Ashutosh Mukherjee House lifted the Championship trophy while Sister Nivedita House was adjudged the runner-up. Individual Champions in their respective groups were:-

There were races run by members of staff and parents which had the pupils cheering in delight. The closing ceremony began with lowering of the School flag by the Principal, followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
REPORT FOR THE PERIOD 07.11.2022 TO 13.11.2022
Participation
Two teams each comprising 03 pupils studying psychology in Class XII participated in Fortis PSY-ED Quiz on Monday, November 07, 2022. The Quiz which was a Pan Indian Quiz-3 was conducted virtually by the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Services, Fortis.
Smt. Swati Banerjee and Sri Rajarshi Barman participated in a Capacity Building Programme on Accountancy, organised by Central Board of Secondary Education, Centre of Excellence, Bhubaneswar. The programme was held at Abhinav Bharati High School on Thursday, November 10, 2022 and Friday, November 11, 2022.
Workshop
As a part of Vigilance Awareness Week programme, a workshop on “Cyber Crime Prevention” was conducted by Times of India in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation at the School Auditorium on Monday, November 07, 2022. The resource persons threw light upon the dangers that lurk in the cyber world and how we can tackle at least some of them ourselves. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize and equip the young, who in turn would pass on the knowledge gained to those around them.
Principal’s Address
The Principal addressed the parents of Class X pupils on Wednesday, November 09, 2022 and Thursday, November 10, 2022 and apprised them of the details and criteria pertaining to Admission to Class XI, Practice Tests as well as the forthcoming Board Examinations.
Athletic Meet
The heats for Athletic Meet 2022 was held at Gitanjali Stadium on Friday, November 11, 2022 for junior and senior girls (Classes VI, VII, X, XI & XII).
The heats for Athletic Meet 2022 was held at Gitanjali Stadium on Saturday, November 12, 2022 for junior boys (Classes VI & VII) and Intermediate Girls (VIII & IX).
The heats for Athletic Meet 2022 was held at Gitanjali Stadium on Sunday, November 13, 2022 for Intermediate Boys (Classes VIII & IX) and senior Boys (Classes X to XII)
Examination
Pupils of Class X (2022-2023 batch) appeared for an Admission Test for Class XI (2023-2024 batch) on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
Workshop
Oxford University Press Town-hall Workshops on 20th century skill on Effective Learning and Teaching Strategies was held at the Park Hotel, Kolkata on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sibani Pillai. Smt. Oindrila De and Smt. Moumita Mukhopadhyay from South Point High School participated in the workshop.
School Festival
The Interact Club and Nature Club of South Point High School presented the inter-school Festival UDAAN & VRRIKSHYA 2022 on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the School premises from 9:45 am to 7:00 pm. The participating schools of the event were – Apeejay School (Park Street), Birla High School, Delhi Public School (Ruby Park), La-Martiniere for Boys, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Patha Bhavan, Sushila Birla Girls’ School, St. Francis Xavier School, The BSS School and the host, South Point High School.
The programme began with Invocation and School song. The Chief Guest Mr. Charanpreet Singh, an alumnus of South Point High School, inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The following fourteen events took place on the day of the fest:-
High Five for Boys, High Five for Girls, Bulls Eye for Boys, Bulls Eye for Girls, Kraft-o-Meter, Poster Perfect, Sneak Peek, Pause & Play, Two Thrills, En-Act, Dhwani, Nritt-Ananda, Cool Cuisine and Click (Photography).
In the Social Service drive, 32 underprivileged children from Prateek Senabrate was invited. Pupils from La-Martiniere for Boys, Patha Bhavan and South Point High School had put up cultural programme for the children. The Interact Club members of South Point High School donated new exercise books, pens, pencils and erasers to them. They also arranged for some cakes and drinks for these children.
A guest band performance by Mr. Dipayan Banerjee at 6:00 pm was the closing event of the day.
This was followed by the Prize Distribution at around 7:00 pm. Winning teams are being sent medals and merit certificates. Trophies were given to the overall winning school, and the first and second runner-ups. Individual trophies were awarded to Mr. Udaan, Ms. Udaan and the Star of the Fest. The final results stood as:
Overall First : South Point High School. But the trophy was handed over to the first runner-up school – Lakshmipat Singhania Academy.
