Achievements

Chirantan Ojha of Class III D (Morning) had participated in the SIP Arithmetic Genius All India Inter-School Contest, 2018 on December 9, 2018. He became the First Runner Up and has been selected to participate in the National Level Final Round. Chirantan received a certificate of appreciation and a trophy.

Shresth Mahapatra of Class V C (Morning) participated in the 3rd Unnayan All Bengal Open Chess Tournament held on December 22 & 23, 2018 at Santosh Mitra Square, Shishu Uddyan, Kolkata. He scored 5.5 points out of 8 points and stood 1st in the Under 12 Boys Category. Shresth received a certificate and trophy.

Picnic

On January 17, 2019 about 373 children of Class IV went for a picnic to IBIZA.

Inter-House Competition

The fourth inter-house competition (Debate) was held on January 16, 2019. Eighteen children, three from each of the six Houses, participated in this. Nine children spoke for the motion, ‘In today’s world, girls and boys get equal opportunities’ and nine spoke against. The moderator for this event was Ms Hasnu Mukherjee. The contest was judged by Ms Indrani Khanna, Ms Ajanta Sengupta and Ms S. Rajalakshmi.

Participation

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, a team of 59 pupils from Classes IX & XI took part in the Ceremonial March Past on the occasion of the Republic Day Celebrations held at Red Road, Kolkata.

Workshop

20 pupils of Class IX attended an introductory workshop exploring techniques we can use to create theatre, on Monday, January 21, 2019 in the School Auditorium. Mary-Frances Doherty, an internationally acclaimed actor and theatre artist, conducted the two hour long workshop.

Mr. Bobby Chakraborty, a well-known Anti-addiction activist conducted workshops on Anti-addiction for pupils of Class XI on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and Friday, January 25, 2019 over three sessions. He spoke extensively about the impact of smoking, drinking and drug abuse on the body and the mind. He cited examples from life, to drive home the devastating consequences of addiction.

Class III

Classes will remain suspended on Friday, February 1, 2019 as the students will be taken for a picnic.
