Unit Test-I for Classes XI & XII began on Monday, July 23, 2018.

Aronyak Ghosh of Class IX F (M), secured 4th Rank in the National Sub-junior Chess Championship held at Kalyani from 17th July to 25th July 2018 and is selected to represent Team India for the Chess Olympiad in 2019.

Sangbid Kundu of Class VII D (M) participated in the 51st West Bengal State Shooting Championship (Rifle & Pistol) 2018 held at North Calcutta Rifle Club, organized by West Bengal Rifle Association on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He secured 1st & 2nd positions in the O.S. Standard Rifle Prone, JR MEN and O.S. Standard Rifle Prone, MEN, respectively.

A Sit and Draw District Competition was organised by the South Calcutta District Association on July 28, 2018 at 19/1, Dr Rajendra Road, Kolkata. Six schools participated in the competition. The participants were divided into two groups: Group A (5–8 years) and Group B (8–10 years). Three children participated in Group A and two in Group B. The topics chosen for the competition were based on characters from ‘The Jungle Book’. Shawnit Imon Sarkar of Class II B (Morning) won the First Prize in Group A, while Gaurabaditya Ghosh of Class III D (Afternoon) won the Second Prize in Group B. Pupils of Class VIII attended a seminar at Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) on Thursday, July 26, 2018 on Global Tiger Day. It aimed mainly to raise awareness about this endangered big cat. This was a WWF initiative.

Amlan Sanyal – XII E, Srijon Jana – XII J and Prayas Sanyal – XII A participated in the Inter-school Theme Quiz on “Women are the architects of modern society”, organized by St. Johns Diocesan School on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Kalamandir auditorium.

The Inter-house Dance Competition for Classes IX & X was held on Friday, July 27, 2018 in the School auditorium. The winners of the competition are:-

The Inter-house Throw-ball Competition 2018-2019 for Classes VI to VIII (Boys) was held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the School premises. The results are:-

On July 21, 2018 Protouch Golf Academy conducted a Fun Golf Competition for students of Class IV within the school premises, the programme being an introduction to golf, mainly for those children who have never played the game before. There were four sessions in all.

Some pupils who had appeared for NSO, 2017 have done very well. Akshay Agarwal of Class III, now in Class IV G (M) has received a certificate for zonal excellence, his zonal rank being 25th. Diptangsu Parbat of Class IV, now in Class V G (A) received a bronze medal, a certificate and a cheque worth Rs.1000/-. His zonal rank is 5th. Dwaipayan Mandal of Class V, now in Class VI E (A) secured the zonal 10th rank and received a certificate and a gift voucher.

Vaibhavi Singh of Class IV F (Morning) participated in the PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship 4 (East Zone-Kolkata) held at SAI from July 8 to 10, 2018. She secured the 3rd position in the Under 11 Girls Category. She received a certificate of merit.

Periodic Assessment-I for Classes VI to VIII and Pre-Midterm Test for Classes IX & X began on Monday, July 16, 2018.

The School team participated in the Patterson Memorial Inter-school Table Tennis Championship, organised by Bengal Table Tennis Association held at New Town School from July 06, 2018 to July 09, 2018 The teams secured the following prizes:-

Junior Boys (Team Championship) [Dron Bhattacharya – VII F (A), Parijat Dwary – VI C (M) & Swastik Dey – VII G (A)] secured the first position.

Junior Boys (Individual Championship) [Dron Bhattacharya – VII F (A) and Parijat Dwari – VI C (M) secured the first and second positions, respectively.

The Girls Team played upto the semi finals.

The Inter-House Quiz Competition for Classes XI & XII was held on Monday, July 09, 2018 in the School Auditorium. Total 12 teams comprising 04 members per team (2 teams per House) competed. Smt. Jhilimili Das Chakraborty (Morning Session), Smt. Madhurima Bhattacharya and Sri Reetwik Ghosh (Afternoon Session) conducted the Quiz. Smt. Alka Sen, Smt. Serina Mukhopadhyay and Sri Sudipto Sur kept the scores. The results of the competition are as follows:-

• Sister Nivedita House secured the first position. Participants: Prayas Sanyal – XII A, Amlan Sanyal – XII A, Shreyan Chakraborty – XII A and Archisman Maitra – XII B.
• Ashutosh Mukherjee House secured the second position. Participants: Boidushya Bhattacharya – XI L, Anushko Mandal – XI J, Reetanjan Kali Roy Choudhuri – XI J and Aniruddha Das – XII J.
• David Hare House secured the third position. Participants: Rounak Mukhopadhyay – XI J, Srijon Jana – XII J, Soham Ghosh – XII J and Sohom Gupta – XII J.

The Final Round of the Inter-house Debate was held in the School Auditorium on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The topic for the event was ‘Technology Is Our Friend Today, But Will Be Our Enemy In The Near Future’. Smt. Soumi Sengupta and Smt. Soma Majumder judged the event. The results are:-

Spandan Ghosh of XII J bagged a bronze medal at the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Cluj-Napoca Romania, between July 03, 2018 and July 14, 2018.
