Reaching Out 09/01/2020

On January 9, 2020 the students of Classes I, II & III brought potatoes and onions to give towards the social service project, ‘Reaching Out’. The pupils had been asked to bring a minimum of one potato and one onion each. The collection was sent to two NGOs, Paripurnata and Antyoday Anath Ashram.

Death Anniversary of Our Founder Rector 08/01/2020

The death anniversary of our Founder Rector, the Late Satikanta Guha, was observed on January 8, 2020. A photograph of the legendary educationist was placed at the school reception and decorated with flowers. Members of staff and student representatives offered floral tributes as a mark of respect.

Achievement 21/12/2019

South Point High School was given the Best School Award for the performance of our students in the Senior Scholarship Test and also the Special Award for the performance of the present students in the Junior Scholarship Test by the JBNSTS, in an award ceremony held at Presidency University on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Evacuation Drill 19/12/2019

A fire evacuation drill was held both in the Morning and Afternoon Sessions on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

Examination 17/12/2019

Assessment of Speaking and Listening for the pupils of Class XI was held from Tuesday, December 17, 2019 to Thursday, December 19, 2019.

The Admission-cum-Eligibility Test for external candidates to get admission to the Humanities and Commerce sections of the School was held on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Workshop 14/12/2019

A guitar workshop was organized for Class IX CCA Guitar students by Sri Ekant Singh and team at the School Auditorium on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Competition 13/12/2019

Pupils of Class XI attended the final round of ‘Empathy Times Inter-school Quiz Competition 2019’ at Hyatt Regency on Friday, December 13, 2019, organized by The Times Group. Out of 30 teams, South Point High School secured the third position. They received each prize worth Rs.15,000/- , Certificates and Trophy.

Nilankur Barik – XI J, Pramita Chatterjee – XI B and Archishman Banerjee -XI B participated in the Brain Bee Quiz at the Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata, on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Archishman Banerjee has been the First Runner-up in the Competition.

Pupils of South Point High School attended the Poetry Competition on Sunday, December 15, 2019, organized by Burrabazar Library. Out of 40 participating schools, South Point High School secured the first position.

Social Service 11/12/2019

12 pupils of Class XI of South Point High School and three officials visited a village in Sunderban and distributed blankets, saris and tarpaulin sheets among 400 families on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. The pupils had a first-hand experience of the sufferings of the villagers. Bulbul, the cyclonic storm had hit the Sunderbans recently and Rangabelia was among the worst-affected areas. The initiative by the School was supported by Bharat Sevashram Sangha in identifying the villagers and the modalities.

Interact Club members of South Point High School visited Rotary Sadan on Friday, December 13, 2019 to help in packing the Christmas Gifts for 1000 underprivileged children for the Flagship Event of Rotary club of Calcutta.

75 pupils of Class XI participated in the preliminary round for Empathy Times – Empowering People against Hepatitis and Liver Diseases, organized by The Times of India on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the School Auditorium.

Smt. Gargi Dey, teacher of the School, attended the 3rd Regional Consultation on Non-Communicable Diseases at Vivanta on Thursday, December 12, 2019. This was organized by Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in association with Cancer Foundation of India. UHC advocates worldwide mobilization of International Universal Health Coverage Day on December 12 every year to call for strong, equitable health system for all.
