Book Fair 22/10/2017

A Book Fair was organized by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd. in the School premises on October 17, 2017. The total sale of books amounted to Rs.62,812/-.

Participation 28/10/2017

Tanushka Bose of Class IV G (Afternoon) had participated in the English Recitation competition held on August 12, 2017 held at The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark. She stood First and received a certificate and books as her prize.

Principal’s Address 29/10/2017

The Principal addressed the pupils of Classes IX & X (CBSE) on October 26, 2017 to caution them against cyber-bullying and general indiscipline in and around school.

Parent-Teacher Meeting 29/10/2017

A Parent-Teacher Meeting for classes XI & XII was held on October 28, 2017. Answer-scripts of Half-yearly Examination, 2017 were shown to the parents / guardian at the meeting.

Daan Utsav Samman Ceremony 29/10/2017

On October 24, 2017 a Daan Utsav Samman Ceremony was held at G. D. Birla Sabhagar at 6.30 pm. This was an initiative to recognize Daan or Giving by schools and housing communities. Mr Sanjay Budhia, Ms June Dutta, Dr. K. M. Mandana and Ms Alokananda Roy, the esteemed judges from various walks of life, who had decided on the ‘Sammans’ to be conferred on schools and housing communities, were present. South Point School was bestowed with the Daan Utsav Shiksha Samman for its strong commitment to giving back to society in the field of education. The school’s endeavour to impart education to the students of Sandipan, the free evening school run by South Point Foundation as well as to the students of the KMCP School at Hazra Road, was applauded.

Painting Competition 05/11/2017

Selected pupils of Classes VI to X participated in a painting competition on “My Vision – Corruption Free India” on the occasion of ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’. The following pupils were adjudged winners who went to receive their awards on November 03, 2017 at Aayakar Bhawan, Chowringhee Square.

Pupils of Classes XI & XII participated in VIBES 2017, organized by The Statesman on November 04 & 05, 2017 at Nazrul Manch. About 30 schools from all over Kolkata participated in the event. South Point High School participated in the events like One Minute to Fame, Quiz, Gallery, T-Shirt Painting, etc. The Results are as follows:-

Achievement 05/11/2017

Arka Choudhuri of Class XI CJ received a sum of Rs.15,000/- from the National Council of Educational Research and Training towards the Scholarship for the period from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018 under the National Talent Search Scheme.

Atreem Das of VI CH (M) has qualified to represent the state in archery (U/14 Boys category) at the 63rd National School Games in Imphal to be held from November 05 to November 09, 2017.

Examination 05/11/2017

The UGC-National eligibility Test (UGC-NET), 2017 conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education was held in the School premises on Sunday, November 05, 2017. The number of candidates designated to the Centre was 480.

CBSE National Inter-School Championship 05/11/2017

The School Swimming Team participated in the CBSE National Inter-school Swimming Championship held at Rishikul Vidyapith, Sonepat (Haryana) from October 26 to 30, 2017.
