Examination

The AISSCE 2018 result was declared on Saturday, May 26, 2018. A total of 552 pupils appeared for the examination. 29 pupils (5.25%) scored 95% and above, 154 pupils (27.89%) scored 90% and above, 361 pupils (65.39%) scored 80% and above, 470 pupils (85.14%) scored 70% and above and 527 pupils (95.47%) scored 60% and above. Abhishek Pal from the Science Stream scored the highest from the School with a total of 483. Krittika B. Dutta secured the highest marks in Humanities with a total of 480 whereas Ritwika Chakravarty topped in Commerce with a score of 479.

The AISSE 2018 result was declared on May 29, 2018. Out of a total of 790 pupils, who appeared for the examination, 144 pupils (18.22%) scored 95% and above, 369 pupils (46.70%) scored 90% and above, 610 pupils (77.21%) scored 80% and above, 741 pupils (93.79%) scored 70% and above and 779 pupils (98.60%) scored 60% and above. Ayshwarya Ghosh scored a total of 494. She was followed by Sayan Maji with a score of 492 and Md. Tiham Hossain and Pavel Chakraborty each scoring a total of 491.

The result of Madhyamik Pariksha, 2018 was declared on June 06, 2018. Out of 93 pupils who appeared, 28 pupils (30.11%) secured 90% and above, 68 pupils (73.12%) scored 80% and above, 85 pupils (91.40%) scored 70% and above and 91 pupils (97.85%) scored 60% and above. Rhichick Dey scored the highest total of 661 from the School followed by Agniv Gupta and Swarnava Porey, who scored 658 and 656 respectively. Marksheets and certificates were distributed to the candidates on the same day.

Inter-school Competition

The Inter-school Debate, ‘Cerebrate’ for the M.P. Birla Trophy organised under the aegis of M.P. Birla Smarak Kosh (South Point) was held on Monday, May 07, 2018 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar. The Debate was chaired by Dr. Kunal Sarkar and the motion of the debate was “Examination is the right way to judge learning outcomes”. Mahadevi Birla World Academy secured the first position while La-Martiniere for Girls and Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, jointly secured the second position. Sai Snigdha Nittala of Mahadevi Birla World Academy received the Best Speaker Award. The Judges for the event were Sri Pradeep Gooptu, Sri S. Ramalingam and Smt. Swati Gautam.

The Inter-school Quiz Competition ‘Q-Point’ for the M.P. Birla Trophy organised under the aegis of M.P. Birla Smarak Kosh (South Point) was held on Monday, May 07, 2018 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar. The Quiz Master was Mr. Charanpreet Singh. Eight teams reached the finals from a total of 23 participating schools. M.P. Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School won the first position while The Heritage School ranked second and Lakshmipat Singhania Academy ranked third. Imon Bhattacharyya of The Heritage School was adjudged the Best Quizzard.

Achievement

Shinjini Ghosh won the Fourth Grand Award in Intel ISEF held at Pittsburg, Philadelphia in May 2018 for the Project titled ‘A Novel Machine Learning Approach for Determining the Confounding Factor for Cancer Identification: An Integration of Neural learning and decision tree’

Examination

  • In the U/19 Cricket Tournament, organized by St. Thomas School at their school premises on Tuesday, May 08, 2018, South Point High School Team lost the match in the semi final against St. Thomas School.

Inter-House Programmes

The Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated in a befitting manner on Wednesday, May 09, 2018 at the School Auditorium at 10:00 a.m. A short programme was presented by the CCA pupils from Classes VI to IX.

OHSAS

The external audit with respect to Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) had been conducted by British Standard Institute (BSI) on Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Participation

Angikar Ghosal of Class XII J attended the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp in Astronomy (2018) at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education from April 24, 2018 to May 11, 2018.
