Edugraphs Colleges 18/18 Award Ceremony
organized by The Telegraph was held on Thursday,
January 19, 2023 at the G.D. Birla Sabhaghar. Aditya Roy of Class X A (A)
was adjudged the best sports person under this award. Aditya played for Bengal
U/17 Cricket Team as a Captain and scored one century in the Vijoy Merchant
Trophy, organized by BCCI. He is the Captain of South Point High School Cricket
Team.
44 pupils and 05 teachers were sent to
Bengaluru for an educational trip, with academic support from Indian Technology
Congress Association (ITCA). The pupils visited Indian Space Research
Organisation (ISRO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and other industries
involved in making of PriyamvadaSat, our own Nano Satellite. The team left on Monday, January 16, 2023 and returned on Friday, January 20, 2023.
- On Day-1, a seminar was organised by ITCA where a talk was given on
satellites and other projects undertaken by ISRO. Insight was also given on the
activities of other countries on satellites built by students.
- On Day-2, the team visited URSC (ISRO). It the museum showcasing miniature
replicas of satellites launched by ISRO.
They also watched a video on the launch of Chandrayaan-2.
- On Day-3, the team visited Micropack Industry, a manufacturer of
Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) where different stages of processing were shown
and explained followed by a visit to the Visvesvaraya Industrial &
Technological Museum (VITM).
- On Day-4, the assembling of electronic circuits at Newtech Industry
was witnessed by the team.
The interactions with scientists and
engineers of ISRO and ITCA were educative yet enjoyable for the students.
Participation
St. Xavier’s
College (Calcutta) Alumni Association organised the XXIX Chapter of Fr. Joris
Memorial Nihil Ultra National Debate on Saturday,
January 21, 2023 on “The House believes that we are witnessing
Euthanasia of Bollywood”. Fourteen pupils from Classes IX and XI of the School
accompanied by their teachers went to listen to the debate held at St. Xavier’s
College ground.
Pupils of Class XI visited Ashutosh
Mukherjee Birth Centenary Hall in Indian Museum on Sunday, January 22, 2023 to attend seminars on the birth anniversaries
of Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, to mark Azadi Ka Amrit
Mahotsav of the Government of India. The event aimed at integrating and
rejuvenating the youth of Bengal in imbibing the ideals of Swamiji and Netaji.
