This year too, South Point School was a part of Daan Utsav, a week long festival of giving, which begins on Gandhi Jayanti and ends on October 8 every year. The children of Class I donated stationery items and old toys in good condition to under privileged children, while those of Class II made a gift box containing small items and gave it to someone less fortunate than them. The pupils of Class III were asked to bring a towel and a bar of soap each and the students of Classes IV & V were each asked to bring a new outfit for under privileged children. The response was very good. On September 26, 2019 the children of Classes III, IV and V brought the gifts beautifully wrapped in pink, yellow, blue, green and red.
On September 27, 2019, 52 large bags full of these gifts were sent to Goonj, an award winning voluntary organisation, for distribution to those who require these the most. This was a learning experience of sharing and caring for our young Pointers.
