Annual Prize Distribution 2018-2019

1. Prize Distribution Ceremony for the year 2018-2019 will be held on July 4, 2019 at Nazrul Mancha.

2. On July 4, 2019, Prize Winners are to reach the school by 2.15 p.m. in proper school uniform (Tie is also to be worn). Guardians are to collect them at the end of the programme from Nazrul Mancha. No one is to leave the Auditorium before the programme is over.

3. Light tiffin will be provided in School.

Examination

The AISSCE 2019 result was declared on Thursday, May 02, 2019. A total of 520 pupils appeared for the examination. 36 pupils (6.92%) scored 95% and above,139 pupils (26.73%) scored between 90% and 95%, 197 pupils (37.88%) scored between 80% and 90%, 50 pupils (9.62%) scored between 75% and 80%, 79 pupils (15.19%) scored between 60% and 75% and 19 pupils (3.60%) scored below 60%. Debanjan Das from the Humanities Stream scored the highest from the School with a total of 493 / 500. Angikar Ghosal secured the highest marks from the Science Stream with a total of 487/500 and Chaitanya Jhunjhunwala topped from the Commerce Stream with a score of 483/500.

Inter-house Competition

The Inter-house Singing Competition for Classes IX & X was held in the School Auditorium on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. The pupils participated with great enthusiasm. Smt. Chaitali Mukhopadhyay, Sri Rajarshi Barman, Smt. Sharmishtha Chowdhury, Smt. Sutanima Ray Biswas and Smt. Sriparna Chatterjee, judged the event. The result finalised by the judges is as follows:-

Parent-Teacher Meeting

A Parent-Teacher Meeting for pupils of Classes VI to XII was held on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Scholastic, the publishing company organized a Book Fair in the School Courtyard on that day. The volume of sales as reported by them was Rs.1,04,091/-.

The Principal also addressed some parents and their wards currently in Class XII. These pupils had failed to perform satisfactorily in the Annual Examination of Class XI.

Inter-House Competition

The Inter-house Drawing Competition for Classes VI to VIII was held in the School premises on Friday, April 26, 2019. The pupils participated with great gusto and enthusiasm. The topics for the event were Rabindra Jayanti for Class VI, Independence Day for Class VII and Durga Puja for Class VIII. Smt. Sima Ghosh Bhattacharya, Smt. Krishna Sardar, Smt. Bageshree Dutta and Sri Chandraval Mukherjee, judged the event. The result of the competition is as follows:-

Audit in regard to the renewal of OHSAS 18001:2007 certification was done at South Point High School by BSI on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

Participation

Pupils of Class XII (Commerce) attended a Career Counselling Session conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the School Auditorium. Mr. Sumit Binani, the Chairman of the Institute’s Eastern India wing conducted the session. Mr. Sanjib Sanghi, Fellow of the Institute, and Ms. Sushmita Sen, the Student Counsellor were also present.

Inter-school Competition

The preliminary round of Satrangi (Inter-school Singing Competition) was held at the School premises on Monday, April 22, 2019 in which 12 teams from the premier schools of the city participated. The judges for the event were Sri Suvam Moitra and Smt. Paloma Majumder. The eight teams which qualified for the finals were Adamas International School, Aditya Academy (Secondary), Delhi Public School (North Kolkata), Future Campus School, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, The Heritage School and the host school, South Point High School.

The Preliminary Round of Cerebrate (Inter-school Debate) was held at the School auditorium on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in which 13 teams from the premier schools of the city participated and six teams qualified for the final. The finalists are Adamas International School, Birla High School, Gokhale Memorial Girls School, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Mahadevi Birla World Academy and the host school, South Point High School. The judges for the event were Sri Subir Datta and Smt. Shampa Banerjee.
