Participation

A Capacity Building Programme on Career Guidance was organized by the Centre of Excellence, CBSE, at Hariyana Vidya Mandir, Salt Lake, Kolkata, on Monday, August 19, 2019 and Tuesday, August 20, 2019. It was attended by Smt. Ruplekha Sen Gupta, Smt. Sharmila Dutta Bose and Smt. Suparna Chakraborty.

Achievement

Sreemoyee Sarkhel of Class III A (Morning) participated in the 5th International Karate Championship 2019 at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from July 26 to 28, 2019. The tournament was hosted by All India Seishinkai Shitoryu Karate – Do Federation. Sreemoyee won the bronze medal in the Kata Sub-junior Girls’ Category (9 years). She also received a certificate.

Participation

A Capacity Building Programme on Social Science, organized by the Centre for Excellence, CBSE was held at the School premises on Friday, August 16, 2019 and Saturday, August 17, 2019. Smt. Swati Das and Smt Bandana Bharti, the Resource Persons of CBSE conducted the programme. 58 teachers from different CBSE schools including Smt. Jhilimili Das Chakraborty, Smt. Srabana Banerjee, Smt. Rukma Basu, Smt. Ushasi Dutta, Smt. Sohini Dey and Smt. Anusheila Laha of South Point High School participated in the programme.

Smt. Soumi Sengupta, Smt Soma Majumdar and Smt. Debdatta Mallick, teachers of the School participated in the Capacity Building Programme on English, organized by the Centre for Excellence, CBSE, held at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy on Friday, August 16, 2019 and Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Parent-Teacher Meeting

A Parent-Teacher Meeting for Classes VI to XII was held on Friday, August 16, 2019. Answer-scripts of Pre-Midterm Test (Classes IX & X) and Unit Test (Classes XI & XII) were shown to the parents / guardian at the meeting. Scholastic, the publishing company organized a Book Fair in the School Courtyard on that day. The volume of sales as reported by them was Rs.52849/-.

Independence Day

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, the Independence Day programme in School commenced with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony. This was followed by a cultural programme which included recitation of patriotic poems and the singing of patriotic songs by the pupils of the CCA classes. This was followed by Prize Distribution for various Inter-House competitions and a cultural presentation. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

42 pupils from Classes IX to XII participated in the Independence Day Cultural Programme, organised by the Government of West Bengal on Red Road on Thursday, August 15, 2019 and the participants received individual certificates and mementos. The School also received a separate participation trophy.

ASPEXS

As part of “Pointer Connect”, an initiative of ASPEXS, Dr. Arnab Gupta, Director, Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute, delivered a talk on “Preventing Cancer” in the School Auditorium on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Pupils of the Morning Session of Class XI attended the programme.
