Rangeet Majumdar of Class III G (Afternoon) had participated in Prof. Samarendra Nath Chakraborty Memorial All Bengal Open Chess Tournament 2019 held at Prafulla Sadan, Habra on July 6 & 7, 2019. He scored 4½ points out of 8 rounds and was ranked 1st in the Under 9 category. Rangeet received a trophy and a certificate.

Lakshmipat Singhania Academy organised Indradhanush, Fun on Wheels on July 26, 2019. This inter-school event provided a platform for the young contestants to foster physical and mental agility, problem solving and navigational skills. Teams were restructured by merging the participating schools and each team was involved in a gamut of outdoor activities. Eight Pointers from Classes II to V participated in this event. One team comprising four Pointers and four pupils of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy lifted the Championship Trophy. All participants received certificates and goodie-bags. The winners received books as prizes.

The second inter-house competition (Creative Dance) was held on July 24, 2019. Eighteen children (three from each House) participated in this. The results are as follows:–

On July 18, 2019 the students of Classes IV & V brought potatoes and onions to give towards the social service project, ‘Reaching Out’. The pupils had been asked to bring a minimum of one potato and one onion each. The collection was sent to two NGOs, Care and Counselling Centre and Ektara.

Anchita Addhya, an Ex-student of South Point of the Higher Secondary batch of 2014 and currently a PhD Scholar (Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering) in the University of Chicago, gave a talk on “Developing Skills to attain professional excellence” to the pupils of Class XII in the School Auditorium in two sessions on Thursday, July 18, 2019. This programme was held as a part of Pointer Connect, a joint initiative of South Point High School and South Point Ex-Students Association.

Pre-Midterm Test for Classes IX & X and Unit Test-I for Classes XI & XII began on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

The Mark-sheets, Character Certificates and Co-Scholastic Report Cards of AISSE-2019 (Class X) were distributed to the pupils admitted in other schools in Class XI, on Saturday, July 20, 2019.

The final round of the Inter-house Debate for Classes XI & XII was held in the School premises on Friday, July 12, 2019. The motion of the house was “College Education is the only way to success.” The event was judged by Smt. Soumi Sengupta, Smt. Soma Majumder and Smt. Susmita Bhattacharya.
