The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2018-2019 was held on April 25, 2018 in the school auditorium. Two Captains and two Vice-Captains from each of the six Houses, along with sixty Prefects were inducted, as also the Head Boy and the Head Girl. This year Rinjoy Chakravarty of Class V H (Morning) and Basundhara Mukherjee of V H (Afternoon) have been selected the Head Boy and the Head Girl, respectively.

A Training programme in compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007 was conducted by Sri Souvik Banerjee (M/s. Simple Solutions), for the Emergency Response Team, Superintendent Teachers, Assistant Superintendent Teachers, Heads of the Departments and Teachers Consultants on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the School Auditorium.

Smt. Tanusmita Banerjee, Teacher (Physical Education), attended the International Award for Young People (IAYP) workshop on “Online Record Book Next Generation”, conducted by Smt. Sanzeeda Ali, Regional Co-ordinator, Asia Pacific IAYP. Sri Bivujit Mukhoty and Sri Priyank Kumar Gupta of IAYP were also present in the workshop, which was held at La-Martiniere for Girls on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

The new session for Classes IX, X & XII began on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

An Orientation Session for the pupils of Class XI was held in the School Auditorium in four phases across all streams (Science, Commerce & Humanities) on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

The new session for Class XI began on Friday, April 20, 2018.

Rangeet Majumdar of Class II G (Afternoon) has been playing chess very well and has won several prizes in the last one year. On February 10 & 11, 2018 he participated in the 11th All Bengal Open Rapid Chess Tournament 2018 at Lake Club and was ranked 3rd in the Under 9 Boys Category. He participated in All Bengal Open Rapid Chess Championship at Budge Budge on March 11, 2018 and was also ranked 3rd in the Under 9 Boys Category. On April 21, 2018 Rangeet participated in the 9th monthly Chess Tournament at Shyamapally Shyama Sangha and received the Championship Trophy.

Aayush Bhattacharjee of Class VI B (M) secured the second position in the 30th West Bengal Fide Rated State Age Group Chess Championship 2018 (U/11 Open & Girls) held at “Kalokakoli”, Colony Institute, Kolkata, between March 29, 2018 and March 31, 2018.

Ice-creams were distributed to all pupils and members of staff on Friday, April 20, 2018 to celebrate the 65th Foundation Day of the School.

Haimoshri Das – XII (Outgoing) has won the Bronze Medal at the 7th European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad held at Florence, Italy during April 09 and April 18, 2018.

Bishakha Gupta of Class XII (Commerce – Outgoing) was ranked 1st in the Eastern Zone for the 2nd Company Secretaries Olympiad (2017-2018) held on January 30, 2018, organized by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India in association with the Science Olympiad Foundation. She will receive a medal, a cash prize of Rs.5000/- and a certificate of recognition.

An OHSAS induction training programme for the new recruits and safety related refresher course for the laboratory assistants were held in the Physics Laboratory on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The programme was conducted by Smt. Paramita Basak and Smt. Neelam Banerjee.

An Internal Audit of the School pertaining to OHSAS was conducted by the internal audit team of South Point School on Thursday, April 12, 2018. The team during their day long process, pointed out various areas where improvement was required for sustained health and safety of the occupants of the building.

The introductory meeting of the School Complaints Committee constituted by the Managing Committee for the Academic Session 2018-2019, was held on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The members of the Committee were apprised about the role and objective of the Committee by Sri K. Damani, Trustee, South Point Education Society.
